Tis the Season

What a wonderful Christmas! I had a great Christmas because this was actually the first year that Joe and I could spend the holiday together. We really enjoyed going over to Joe's mom's house Saterday and seeing family. Watching the kids open their gifts is really whats exciting. The looks on their faces is just so cute! On Christmas eve Joe and I went to visit my Aunt Charlotte. I took over a big chocolate cake to give her. She really enjoyed it! When we came home from my aunts I finished wrapping a few of Joe's stocking stuffers then baked some cookies. Christmas day I got up and made a breakfast casserole and it turned out pretty good! Joe loved his pj pants, new wallet, and a new computer game I gave him. He got some others things of course but those were his favorites. A few of my favorite things I got from Joe were a foot massager, digital picture frame, and dvd series he gave me. Later Christmas day we went to my dad's house. We had a nice Christmas and dinner (awsome prime rib). I had to go back to work the day after Christmas but I had today off to spend some time with my girfriend, Christy. She flew in Christmas Day from Tampa, Fl. I had not seen her in a year. So last night I went out to Portsmouth to hang out with Christy and Valerie. It was "Girls Night". I had a blast! It was so nice to have a night just to goof off with the girls and have "girl talk". We went out for a couple of drinks then went back to Valerie's house and watched "The Devil wears Prada". It was such a good movie! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

I am officially relaxing and enjoying the holiday weekend. Joe and I went out eat at Plaza Azteca after I got off from work last night. I love Mexican food! Then we went to Target and a quick trip to the mall to pick up a few last minute gifts. I was actually surprised to see that both Target and the mall were not too crowded! I think it was due to the nasty weather. I still need to wrap a few gifts today. I just thought this celebrity look a like was kinda cool and I thought I would share. Joe and I are starting our Christmas festivities this evening over at his mom's house with his mom, two sisters, and grandparents. The picture above is my grandmother, cousin, and I when I was young. I wanted to show this picture because it is one of the few pictures I have with my grandmother and I both in it. She passed away a year ago Dec 17. My grandmother only had goodness and happiness in her heart. She never thought bad about anybody. We all could take a lesson from her especially at this time of the year. She is always in my thoughts and prayers.

I finally feel just about ready for Christmas. This weekend I spent most of my time doing nothing but Christmas shopping and wrapping. I was on a mission! I went to Kmart, Walmart, Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Pier 1, Barnes & Noble, and three different malls. I'm about shopped out! I still have a few more stocking stuffers to get and one gift and I am done. I have a lot of my wrapping done as well. I also managed to get my Christmas cards out in the mail. These pictures are of a wreath and stockings that Joe's mom made for us. I am so glad to have the majority of my shopping done so I can relax and enjoy the holiday weekend. I might even try to cook a little this weekend!

What a good weekend! Friday evening Joe and I just stayed home and relaxed after a hard week at work. Saturday morning I met my step mom, Carolyn, and best friend, Valerie, at David's Bridal and ordered all of the bridesmaid dresses along with the guestbook- pen set, garter, and two ring pillows. The store actually discontinued the particular dress we were ordering but they managed to still have the color and all the sizes that I needed still in stock. I guess I lucked out! Carolyn loved that lighted gift some much that I gave her for her birthday that she figured out how to make it on her own and made me one and made others to hand out as gifts for Christmas. Then Carolyn and I went out and did some Christmas shopping together while Joe stayed at home all day and did nothing. He needed some down time to himself. He enjoyed every minute of it! Saturday evening Joe and I watched the movie Click and ordered in some Chinese food. Afterwards we went to Cozzy's Comedy Club with some friends. Sunday Joe and I ventured out to Williamsburg and went to the Christmas Mouse and Yankee Candle Factory. We picked out our first Christmas ornament. The Yankee Candle Factory had a nice Christmas display/section that really put Joe and I in the Christmas spirit. I bought a Wedding Day scent candle of course. I also made a trip out later Sunday evening to Walmart to buy some gifts for my "Angel", Nina.

Friday night Joe and I stayed at home and pretty much did nothing. Saterday I went out to the mall to try to get some more gifts for Joe and came home with just one gift and a few stocking stuffers. Saterday night Joe went out to play in a poker tournament while I stayed home and watched "The Lake House". It was a girly romantic movie! Loved it! Sunday Joe and I cleaned house and went to dinner to Bonefish with my parents to celebrate my step mom's birthday. She loved that lighted gift! Of course when I went to take some pictures at dinner my batteries in my camera went dead. Go figure! I also took Toby to PetSmart to get a haircut. He looks like the traditional Scootie now. When we got home we took a few holiday pictures for Christmas cards I will be sending out in the next week or so. We also took Toby for a walk Sunday night to look at all the holiday lights our leasing office put up around our townhouse community. They did a wonderful job!
